New Wings, Donna Stanley

"When we pray for the supernatural, why are we surprised when it actually shows up" Donna Stanley wrote a book with her teen daughter in mind - when she could not find a book that was not about vampires she decided to write her own. And she did an excellent job. This book is a Frank Peretti book for teens - get ready for some intense action and suspense. I enjoyed the fact that it is written in the first person through the eyes of a teenage girl. What child of God has not wished to see with spiritual eyes our guardian angel? When Olivia Stanton asks this very question she is surprised by the response of God. Little did she know that the simple request would forever change her life and would also impact the lives of those around her. Every page is an exciting turn of events - nail-biting at times. For the first time in her life Olivia learns the true power of Holy Spirit lead prayer. She encounters the spiritual world of angels and demons in a light that she never could have dreamed. I admire the strength and integrity that this main character - not only must she fight her own battles and defend her faith but she strongly leads her friends into life-changing prayer. Wow! What an excellent book. A great buy for teens. Thanks to Creation House and Glass Roads for this review copy.
