Tales of Little Bear and Little Buffalo, Roy Naquin

This book is a treasure to have. Native American tales are quickly becoming scarce as newer generations are failing to pass along the oral traditions of these great people that shaped this continent. In this book the author recounts the tales told to him by his grandfather and father. In it children are immersed into a world that many people try to write about from the outside looking in but few of the insiders actually put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard as is the case today).

This book follows Little Bear and Little Buffalo on their adventures. It seems these to little Indians have no trouble finding mischief to get into, adventures are just around the river bend or over the next hill. I absolutely loved the simplicity and creativity of this book. It is easy for children to read and will spark their childish imaginations as they begin to wonder what adventure they can find in their own backyards.

I received this review copy from the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this delightful book I would encourage you to write another. My boys loved these daring tales of boyhood fun!
