King David (Get to Know), Nancy I Sanders

This is the second book in this series that we have read - and we LOVE it!! If you are looking for a good series on biblical characters this is the one to invest in. Children will love the book and will read it over and over again. This unique book is aimed at children between 6 to 10. However, I found that all of our children enjoyed the book. The twelve chapters are focused on parts of King David's life. Filled with biblical, archeological and historical facts this books is a great read. Each page has wonderful illustrations. On each page there are insets with additional information: Bible Heros, EyeWitness Account, Did You Know and Word Bank. The Word Bank gives definitions of words that children might not know. The 'Did You Know' boxes have fun facts about the time period, event, daily life, etc. The 'EyeWitness Account' has information from an eyewitness; for example on page 17 it talks about a stone found Tel Dan with an account from a king about David. 'Bible Hero' section gives more information about bible heros. Thanks to Zonderkidz for this review copy.
